We recommend that you do a patch test on your skin the first time you use any of our products. To do so, apply a small amount of the new product to clean skin on the inside of your elbow or wrist. Cover with a bandage and leave for 24 hours. If a rash, redness, or any other adverse reaction appears, discontinue use of product immediately. Should you get any product into your eyes, flush with water immediately. If any irritation in your eyes occur, consult a physician immediately. All products are for external use only, unless otherwise noted. Do not use the information found within this website to self-diagnose any medical conditions or treat any health problems or diseases. Please consult your qualified health professional should you have any concerns.
Soap and other products' weight, color, and scent: We are intentional about consistency in formulating our products and as a result of handmade products, however, there is a possibility for slight variations including color and what one might perceive as "imperfections" - minor scratches, chips, or air bubbles. This is the beauty and the uniqueness of our products as each is intentionally one of a kind. Please note that due to the handmade and natural composition of GE products, you may find variation in color, markings, and scent from batch to batch.
Shelf Life: GE uses only the most healthful alternative preservatives we can find. While all of our products are tested to ensure freshness, we cannot guarantee freshness and effectiveness of any products kept after the recommended 6 months (or date noted on product details). We also recommended storing our products away from water and in a cool location out of direct sunlight to maintain freshness and effectiveness. For longer lasting soap bars, we recommend allowing the soap to dry completely using a soap dish that allows for water to drain. To get even more life out of your bar, cut in half and use one half at a time in the bath or shower.
Allergies: Just because it’s natural doesn’t eliminate the possibility of your skin having an allergic reaction. Please be sure to check if you have any known sensitivities or allergies to cosmetic ingredients and/or essential oils. Gerra's Essentials (GE) recommends doing a patch test prior to using a product. Many of our products can be purchased in a sample size and all ingredients are listed clearly on each package. GE cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions to our products. Pregnant or Nursing Women: There are many all-natural essential oils that pregnant or nursing mothers have been recommended to avoid. Below are just a few for your reference. Gerra's Essentials (GE) nor any of our employees are licensed medical professionals, so please be sure to consult your physician regarding any oils, extracts, and supplements you use during pregnancy.

Babies: Below are a few essential oils that are recommended to avoid using on infants. This is just a reference so please be sure to check with your physician about any oils, extracts, and supplements you would like to use on or administer to an infant.
Basil, Bay, Benzoin, Bergamot, Birch, Black pepper, Cassia, Citronella, Clove, Costus, Cumin, Eucalyptus globulus, Fennel, Fir, Ginger, Helichrysum, Juniper, Lemon verbena, Melissa, Nutmeg, Oak moss, Orange, Oregano, Parsley seed, Peppermint, Pimento berry, Pine, Tagetes, and Thyme (red).
